This was done by my teammates Brother-in-law on NHL10. He told me about this when it first came out a year or so ago. Little did I know that they ended up putting it on the bonus features of Die Hard 4 DVD. Sweet.

Well thats a first. I felt nothing but exhausted today for no good reason. Stayed in bed all day. What a waste of a Sunday.

Some people hate the shootout in the NHL.

This is why I love it:

You get to see awesome moves.

Apparently the Orlando tryouts for American Idol were held at my old hotel. It's a shame really, that would have been fun to do, watch, and people watch :P I don't know how Rosen managed to pull that off, the convention center (which would be the first choice obviously) is just 2 miles down the road from the Hotel. I bet the AV group made a killing in commission from this thing.

Of coarse, I wouldn't want to be the one who would have to go trouble shoot Simon's internet because it kept FLAKING OUT EVERY 5 MINUTES.

I was walking to Aldis today and while I was walking there I ended up standing at a crosswalk with someone wearing a Ohio State sweater, while I was wearing my Michigan sweater. As we were both coming up to the crosswalk, he noticed and gave a smirk... I noticed and gave a smirk as well. Akwarddddddd lol

Inner thoughts and superstitiions [04 Jan 2010|06:39am]

It's wierd. I consider myself athiest but a the same time I don't believe in chance. Everything happens for a reason. Which is the reason I got interested/curious in Tarot cards and horoscopes to begin with.

All of the horoscopes I've seen for this upcoming year assocaited with my sign (Pisces) have said that the past 2 years, in pretty much ever facet, have been extremely hard (true) but that this upcoming year is going to make the troubles, sadness, depression, and hardships worth it (or atleast seem insignificant). This is all well and good, but we'll see how things go I guess.

The entire reason I decided to write this post and review my horoscopes for 2010 is, for the first time in awhile, I consulted the Taroh cards. In the past, they've been dead on when it comes to recent relationships. Wether it be my feelings, the other persons's feelings or how it'll all turn out (or what need to be done to help things). So I decided to do a drawing for the month of January (seeing as this is going to be an extremely crucial month for me on a couple fronts, mostly career/financially).

--For those who don't know how Tarot cards work, you shuffle face down and which ever card feels "right" you lay down and examine. In my case, since I'm a very literal person, I tend to take the literal description of the card from my book (which gives key words associated with the card). When asking a simple question the card drawn represents a "if things continue the way they are" scenario. Note that any change you make can alter this course and everyone has their own way to interpret/draw cards.

So, for January, I came up with "waiting." I asked for clarifcation and the next card I drew was "failure". So... if I conitnue on the way I am, I'm just waiting for failure. Sounds about right actually.

I then posed the question "What if I change 'x'" and I then drew "Success." Literally, the definition of the card's were "waiting," "failure" and "success." I find it quite intriguing actually. Given 72 cards in a deck, and only 2 or so being associated with "success" and only a single one being SOLELY defined as "success" that I would chose that one next is a staggering statistical rarity. Couple that in with the questions posed and the layout, I'm extremely impressed.

I'm going to have to see how this plays out and see where this takes me.

Heh, found out today that William Shatner, Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, Lance Armstrong (for obvious reasons), Heigh Laurie, Adam Savage AND Jamie Hyneman, Ian McKellan (Gandolf in LOTR which is pretty ironic), Ray Romano (hey... I liked Everybody Loves Raymond), and Angelina Jolie, are atheists. Wish they'd be more vocal about it.

So, Avatar comes out this week. On RT it's getting a 85% by critics....BUT most of the reviews are all about the technology used to create the movie. Sure, it's pretty awesome stuff, but does it instantly make it a good movie? No. However, alot of critics seem to think so. From what I understand, the entire story is basically a rehash of Pocahontas. This is why I will NOT be paying to see this movie.

Dexter, season finale.

Talk about coming out of left field. Normally I can see things coming... but this... wow. Caught me completely off guard. No idea what their plans are for next season. Too bad we have to wait till November 2010 for it :\

Dear Florida,

It's funny how bad you look when you ACTUALLY PLAY A DECENT TEAM. Fuck off, you're not the "best" by playing only 1 ranked team all god damn year. GG.

I was recently given Modern Warfare 2 for the PC as a gift, and I gotta say... I can see why people like it. It's wierd though.... it's frustrating (talking about Multiplayer here) but addicitive. You start off with these shitty guns, while everyone else has the best guns... makes it hard to have a really decent game. But I still keep coming back for more! Although it's defined as a strategy/team based FPS... alot of the MP modes don't seem to be that at all. The only ones that are, are Capture the Flag and Domination (control points you must capture/defend). The others I've tried (Team Deathmatch mostly) just plane suck. The spawn points switch up so alot of the time you'll be moving forward and the enemy will spawn behind you and kill you. I understand it's to prevent spawn camping/killing but it's retarded. I've never seen a MP FPS with less people who actually communicate with their teammates (maybe I'm just spoiled from Counter-Strike). I've been playing for about 2 days now (about 7 hours of playtime by the in-game counter) and I'm at level 21. The problem is though, is that you don't even get a M16 till level 40 or so. WTF?! Even when you level up, most of the time the guns you had prior are BETTER than the ones you unlock. The only good part about leveling up is the sound it makes when you do it.

Killstreak perks are the best part about this game in my opinion. There is nothing like controlling a missle, seeing where all of the enemy is while it's dropping, and wiping out 3 people with a single blow. The problem is, when your just starting out and low ranked with shitty weapons, it's few and far between when you get to use them.

All things considered it's a good game if you like Multiplayer and can take a frustrating few hours to get some decent perks/guns. If you just like to play Single Player, you're going to be disappointed. The single player campaign takes a mere 8 hours to complete.

Also note that MW2 does not allow for dedicated servers... this means it's up to the match making to choose a host and connect. I've had, a few times, the host drop out causing the game to pause (for everyone) while it looks and loads up a new one. The first time this happened it took a good 5 minutes for the game to transfer all the data before we started back up again. Thankfully, it saves everyone's scores and positions so when it DOES finally restart... you're picking up where you left off. You have no control though on what servers you pick, so I've had a number of servers that randomly lagged like a motherfucker. It's really really frustrating.

Note: I'm really suprised how well it runs on a lower end machine.
My specs are:
3.6ghz Pentium 4 (with HT)
512 MB Radeon 2600HD
2 Gigs of RAM
It runs well (though the settings aren't maxed out) at 1024x768 and it still looks really nice.
